Is DeskPing a web-based service?
Yes. You create a DeskPing web account. There you can manage your account 24/7.

How do I add contacts to my Communicator? How do people get subscribed to my mailings?
DeskPing is a 100% permission-based marketing service. As such, contacts cannot be "imported" into your DeskPing campaign like you may be accustomed to using an email autoresponder. And in part, that explains why DeskPing Campaigns enjoy such high response rates compared to email marketing.

Your readers can add themselves or subscribe to your campaign by simply downloading and installing your campaign communicator.

How do I publish my DeskPing Communicator to allow readers to subscribe?
You can publish your campaign communicator by posting a website graphic, website hyperlinked text, or by a download link that we provide you. You then can post that to your website, blog or email message. When readers click on the link provided, they'll begin the download and installation of your private DeskPing Communicator channel.

I like using email. Can I still use DeskPing for my marketing?
Yes. You can use all the other components of DeskPing like...

You can...

  • Use it host and stream your Web Audio or Web Video to build trust with your readers via your your websites, emails or blogs
  • Use it to host and record your reservationless Conference Calls.
  • Use it to host Voice Box Messages or create Sizzle Lines for your advertising.
  • Use it to host Voice Mail Messaging tree as an information line.
  • Or use it as a complete marketing solution for your business.

Do my readers have to start their DeskPing Communicator each time they check for my messages?
DeskPing is installed into your reader's system tray to auto-start on boot-up. So your readers don't have to remember to start the DeskPing communicator. It happens automatically for them... and for you.

Is DeskPing like RSS?
Yes, only on steroids. DeskPing technology employs RSS technology to deliver messages directly to your reader's desktop. It allows you to personalize their messages to them to increase response rates.

Who can send messages using the DeskPing Communicator?
Only the DeskPing account holder can send messages to their list of readers.

Why would a person download my communicator to receive my messages?
A person will only install your communicator onto their desktop IF you present value and benefit to them. If you can't provide them value or benefit, don't look for subscribers.

Will people actually download and install my communicator?
There is a whole new generation of people with money to spend that will download your communicator and allow you to marketing to them.

These are the same people that have downloaded Weatherbug to their desktop more than 78 million times. They've "grown up" downloading online. And they see DeskPing as a mechanism that will allow them to get the information they want, when they want it and without all the hassles and problems that spam email provides them.

Is anyone else using direct to desktop marketing?
A short list of companies using direct to desktop marketing includes... American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Hawaii Airlines, Forbes Magazine, Business Week Magazine, WeatherBug, Orbitz.com, Expedia.com, JC Penney, Apple, Google, Chrysler, Dannon, Cottonelle, Scott, Hasbro, Yahoo, Nickelodeon, Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Warner Home Video, The Weather Channel, Tamiflu, Denver Broncos, USC Trojans, Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Flyers, Virgin Airlines, X360... and others.

Is there a way I can entice a person to subscribe to my communicator?
Yes... bribing people always works. In order words, provide your reader with value for FREE... the more value, the more will want your messages.

Consider offering a free written report or video report in exchange for their subscription to your campaign. In short, bribe them! :-)

I already downloaded the Message communicator once. Now when I click on "Subscribe Now" button, I begin downloading it again. Why?
Each time you click the "Subscribe Now " button, you are subscribing to that particular campaign of interest. As such, you're actually downloading and installing the new campaign information.

Does DeskPing send out email?
No. It communicates to your desktop using DeskPing technology which in part uses RSS technology. That's the same technology that fuels many blogs today.

I don't use Credit Cards. Is there another way that I can pay you for the service?
Contact Us directly and we'll work with you to setup an account.

Marketing using DeskPing

Would a cold market prospect, whom I have never had any contact with, actually download the DeskPing program and permit me to market to him?
Your prospect will download your campaign communicator only if they see VALUE in what you can provide THEM. That's the value of true 100% permission-based marketing.

Unlike email, DeskPing is 100% permission-based. People will only opt into your DeskPing campaign if they see benefit to opting in.

We've seen a dramatic increase in response rates when employing a DeskPing campaign to replace an email campaign. So at the end of the day, you have a more responsive list of readers.

This same concept was proven by a well known autoresponder service years ago when it changed to "confirmed optin" where you could only receive the email information if you confirmed your optin twice. The autoresponder tracked results and found that smaller lists were built with confirmed optin, while the list made the list owner more money.

Several years ago, an Internet marketing company introduced a very basic desktop communication tool. They found that a list build using a desktop communicator generated more income on few subscribers when compared to email lists presented with the same offer.

So again, readers will only download it if they see value in your marketing proposition. So your challenge Blake is to give your readers value if you want them to subscribe.

Of course DeskPing includes many other tools that are worth the monthly service all by themselves.

Why would I use DeskPing instead of just sending email?
In short... because you want your marketing messages delivered to your reader 100% of the time. You want your reader to expect your message and read it. You want to engage your reader with sight and sound. And because you can include steaming web video and audio in the marketing message. That engages your reader and helps them build trust in you.

And when they trust you, you do business with you.

DeskPing Voice Messaging Service

Can I setup an information line with multiple voicemail boxes? Create a voicemail tree for presentation purposes?
Yes, DeskPing's Voice Messaging service allows you to create a voicemail tree to present a variety of information.

For example, a realtor may post a FOR SALE sign in front of a home. On that sign, a telephone number would be listed with a PIN code. A prospective buyer could sit at curbside with their cell phone. They could dial the number and hear a general greeting. They would hear options to choose from like..."Press 1 to learn about the 211 Colorado Property... Press 2 to learn about the 1413 Hackberry Place Property..." A caller could then press the appropriate key on the phone to hear a description of the property of interest.
